Exams are finished.. so I now have a few days to myself before I have to start school again. Not much has happened - the exams weren't too bad... At the moment I'm contenting myself to do a bit of playing around with various html designs - I may also do some work on the Albany Getaway Camping site.

It's been a while (over a week) since I last posted. Since then, not a huge amount has happened. The main reason I havn't been posting anything is my school work - while I don't spend endless hours toiling over it, it is still a substantial amount. When I'm not doing it, I feel guilty, so either way I don't get much else done.

So, in other news, I havn't been doing much else on my computer or in anything...

For once, I had little homework to do on the weekend, so I decided to download and install the newly released Ubuntu Studio. Unfortunately, the torrent I was using was rather slow, so it took me almost 24 hours to download the 867 Mb ISO. Anyway, I burned it to DVD, and installed .

The result is a very nice looking system. The first thing I noticed were the beautiful themes and lovely startup sounds... it took me only a few minutes to get everything running how I wanted it. It runs much faster than my usual setup, however I suspect this is only because my usual setup is running a lot more (two web servers, indexing services, etc). In any case, it´s a very nice system to play with. Not doing much audio / graphics / video editing I can´t say much about that, but there´s a plethora of tools available.

On a side note, I did get a story thrown together for English. I won't be posting it online though . I basically wrote an alternative ending for one of the stories that we had been studying for English.

My current English assessment consists of a piece of creative writing in relation to our 'short stories' unit. So far I've gotten nowhere, and it's due on Wednesday (two days time). So far I've decided on little, apart from the fact that a career as a writer is not for me.

Stay tuned, I may post the finished product on here if I'm proud of it - unlikely.

Matthewv.id.au has been down for some time - well the complete site at least. Tonight, I've finally got some semblance of a complete site running again, namely, a renewed wordpress install.

My original server setup was lost when the shed was rewired - power was cut to my server, as well as network connectivity. For a couple of weeks matthewv.id.au dissappeared, until Chris was kind enough to allow me some server space. I had a bbs message up for over a month, but now, finally, I have something up again. Thanks Chris

My initial plans for my revamped site are not grand. I'm just looking forward to getting my main site back up and running. Eventually I may write my own theme for this site, rather than using this (admittadly good) look. I have actually written my first wordpress theme now, I'll post here once it's live and available for viewing (and writing a theme no longer seems like an impossibility).

Later I may make this site a central place for all my work - web development, school work etc. Until then, we'll see what happens.
